Almost 5 years ago Eric and I bought our home and moved across the street from some of the best neighbors you could ask for. Susan and John have opened up their home to us, given our daughter a full access pass to their swimming pool, and bring her little gifts when they go on vacation. (Her favorite is a teddy bear they brought back from Canada, which she tells people came “all the way from Mars.” :D)

Their daughter, Kara, set up this session as a gift to both her parents and her in-laws (who made the trip down from Georgia), and it was so much fun spending the afternoon with all of them. Kara’s only request was that we focus on the beauty of family and to shoot somewhere that looks and feels like home. What better place than right in her old neighborhood, in front of the home she and Zach grew up in?

When Penny June found out I was going to see Susan, Mr. Yawn, and Belle (Adelle), there was no stopping her from tagging along. I think she’s missed having Whitney living across the street. <3
