“I belong with you
You belong with me
You’re my sweetheart.”
Mason and Alex grew up working on Buck Island. It’s made them who they are today. And stepping foot onto the ranch, even though the sky was gloomy and we were hit with a few raindrops, I knew it was going to be special.
Alex’s maid of honor, Stefanie, told their story at the reception: The two met in 2014 at the Florida Cattlemen’s Convention, and Mason later messaged Alex and asked, “When are you planning the wedding?” She ignored his messages, so much so that he started asking Stefanie why Alex was ignoring him and how he could get her attention. He finally invited her to go deep sea fishing for his birthday, and she found that they shared a lot of common interests.
When he proposed, it was after another deep sea fishing trip for her birthday. He planned it perfectly with roses and champagne with their friends and family present, while she was unwittingly wearing the same dress as when they first met.
I joined the guys on the buggy to take Mason to see his bride for their First Look. The first hint of sunshine all day long came just as the sun was dipping below the horizon, so we raced to catch a glimpse of it as it set.
